Why the USA remains the most aspirational study destination in the world

The United States hosts more of the world's top-ranked universities than any other country. Harvard, MIT, Stanford, Columbia, NYU, and hundreds of other world class institutions accept international students who can meet their high academic and financial standards. For ambitious students, the USA offers an education that opens doors globally.

The F-1 Student Visa allows full time study at an accredited US institution, and the Optional Practical Training programme gives STEM graduates up to 3 years of work authorisation after graduation. The H-1B employer sponsorship route, though highly competitive through a lottery, remains the primary pathway to long term US residency for skilled professionals.

Ask Us Anything
Is the F-1 visa interview difficult?+
It depends on your preparation. The visa officer wants to verify that you are a genuine student with strong ties to India. A strong financial profile, clear study purpose, and confident communication are key.
What is the SEVIS fee and who pays it?+
The SEVIS fee of USD 350 is paid by every F-1 applicant before the visa interview. It covers the Student and Exchange Visitor Information System registration.
Can I work in the USA on an F-1 visa?+
On campus work is allowed up to 20 hours per week during term. Off campus work requires CPT (during studies) or OPT (after graduation) authorisation.
What is the STEM OPT extension?+
STEM OPT gives eligible graduates an additional 24 months of work authorisation on top of the standard 12 months of OPT, for a total of 3 years of post graduation work rights.
How competitive is H-1B sponsorship?+
Very competitive. The annual cap of 85,000 visas is typically oversubscribed, and applicants enter a lottery. Many graduates apply multiple OPT cycles before receiving an H-1B.
Is studying in the USA affordable for Indian students?+
It depends heavily on the institution. Community colleges and state universities can be affordable. Many private universities offer significant financial aid to international students with strong profiles.
