Common questions about
studying in Europe

Is Germany really tuition free for Indian students?
Yes. Most German public universities charge no tuition fees regardless of nationality. You only pay a semester administration fee of approximately EUR 300 per semester (roughly INR 28,000). This does not apply to private universities, which charge full fees.
Do I need to learn German to study in Europe?
Not for most Master's programmes. There are thousands of fully English-taught Master's programmes in Germany, Netherlands, Ireland and France. For undergraduate programmes, local language proficiency is often required. We identify the right English-medium programme for your profile.
What is a blocked account and why do I need one for Germany?
A blocked account is a German bank account that holds EUR 11,208 per year as proof of funds for your student visa application. You open it before applying for the visa and can withdraw the monthly allowance once you arrive in Germany. Popular providers include Expatrio and Coracle.
Can I work while studying in Europe?
In most European countries, international students can work 20 hours per week during term time and full time during holidays. Germany allows 120 full days or 240 half days per year. Netherlands allows 16 hours per week. Ireland allows 20 hours during term and 40 during holidays.
What are the post-study work options?
Germany offers an 18-month Job Seeker Visa after graduation — one of the most generous globally. Netherlands offers a 1-year Orientation Year visa. Ireland offers a 2-year Graduate Irish visa for NFQ Level 8+ graduates. Each country has its own pathway to the EU Blue Card once you have a job offer.
